This information is for current American Academy families who have additional children (KindiePrep-grade 8) interested in attending American Academy for the 2025-2026 school year.

Siblings of current students receive Sibling Priority and will be part of our December 5^th lottery. Please note that we cannot guarantee placement, but by completing a waitlist application your child(ren) will receive priority over the general lottery and be placed at the top of the waitlist. Add your waitlist application prior to December 4, 2024, at 11:59 PM.

Before submitting a sibling priority waitlist application, please read this additional 2025-2026 enrollment information:

• Current 4-year-old KindiePrep families have automatically rolled into Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year. Please do not submit an additional application in SchoolMint. Information will be coming at a later date regarding enrollment paperwork for the 2025-2026 school year.

• Waitlist applications should NOT be completed for students currently enrolled at American Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. All current KindiePrep-7^th grade students are automatically rolled up to the next grade level for the 2025-2026 school year. If your child is currently enrolled at AA (grades KP-7th) but will not be returning next year, please Contact A Registrar.

• Age Requirements for Kindergarten and first grade students: Please be sure your child meets the DCSD Entrance Age Requirement. Eligible Kindergarten students must be five years of age by October 1^st of the school year they plan to attend. Please note there is not a half-day Kindergarten option. Eligible first grade students must be six years of age by October 1^st of the school year they plan to attend.

• Age Requirements for KindiePrep: Please be sure your child meets the KindiePrep Age Requirements. The program is open to children four to five years old by October 1^st, or three years old by August 1^st of the school year they plan to attend.

• Step-Sibling Additional Documentation: If you are adding a step-sibling to the waitlist, please contact your campus Registrar to provide additional documentation (i.e., marriage license or updated driver’s license).

• Offers of Enrollment will begin after the December 5^th lottery: Sibling Priority offers of enrollment will begin after the December 5^th lottery and continue through August 1^st, based on grade-level availability. Offers will come through your SchoolMint Enroll account if/when spots become available. Please respond to your offer within 72 hours via your parent dashboard.

• Accepting an Offer of Enrollment: It is important to accept your offer within 72 hours via the parent dashboard and follow instructions for paperwork submission. If a family does not accept the offer to enroll within 72 hours, it will be considered declined.
