I taught first grade for thirteen years in my home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, after I completed my Early Childhood Education degree at Northeastern State University (OK). My husband, Adam, and I have four children: Spencer, Tristen, Ollie, and Kate. I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, travel, hike, swim, and spend time with my family, friends, and pets though I am also currently working on my master’s degree in special education on-line through the University of Kansas. My philosophy as an educator is simple yet comprehensive: nurture individual potential. It’s at the heart of everything I do. I am looking forward to meeting friendly new faces and to a wonderful school year!

I am a Colorado native and grew up in the Littleton area. I attended Colorado State University earning my BS in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in early childhood education and a minor in business. I love watching the growth students make in those early years! In my spare time I love to hike, run, play bocce, and bake.

I believe children learn best when they are able to ask questions and discover solutions on their own. As a teacher, I enjoy being a facilitator, and I love to witness each of my students become more confident in themselves as a learner. Originally from Wyoming, I moved to Fort Collins, CO, when I was in high school. I graduated from Montana State University with a BA in Horticulture Science. I then received my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado. I met my husband, KC, while attending Montana State. I sing in a choir and am an avid reader and movie buff. On the weekends, you can either find me in the library or at the movies! I also enjoy riding my bike, dancing, camping, and gardening.

I am originally from Columbus, IN, and came to Colorado to marry my husband who is a Colorado native. When I first came, I was a professional ballet/modern/jazz dancer. I taught dance classes to students ranging from pre-school to adults in local studios, elementary schools and high schools as well as at Colorado Christian University. I graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis (Go Bulldogs!) with a BA and MA in dance. I obtained my Elementary Education license at Metropolitan University of Denver. I have one son who attends CU. On weekends I love to read, paint with watercolors, knit, hike, bike and camp. I strive to inspire and encourage students to find their unique strengths and abilities here at American Academy.
