Our Mission
The American Academy Parent Teacher Organization at Parker (AAPTO-MB), a chapter of the Douglas County Educational Foundation, exists to support the students, faculty, and parents of American Academy-Parker (AA-MB) in achieving academic excellence while encouraging pride in our student, faculty and parent community. This goal is accomplished by raising funds for American Academy-Parker through our fundraising events and on-going collection programs, by giving back to our teachers and staff whom educate and care for our children, by developing a sense of community in our school with social gatherings, and by giving to those in need through our various outreach programs.

Krystal Augustini - President
Krystal Augustini is excited for the opportunity to serve as the American Academy- Motsenbocker campus PTO president. She and her family relocated from Washington State in search of sunshine, and fell in love with the Parker area. She has three children: a sixth grader and first grader at American Academy, and a two year old at home. She is a Registered Nurse, and has the opportunity now to stay home with her kids. Krystal enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering with the school, and doing just about anything outdoors. She is eager to work with our wonderful families at American Academy through PTO.

Gita Montreuil- Vice President, Fundraising Events
Gita Montreuil is excited to join the PTO board this year as the VP of Fundraising Events. Gita has always loved volunteering at the school whether it be as room mom, actively participating with the Spring Soiree or helping at lunch time. She has lived in three continents, Asia (India), Europe (France) and North America (New Jersey and now Colorado). She and her family moved to Colorado a little over five years ago and now call our beautiful State their home. She has two children, a third grader and a first grader at American Academy. Gita has a Masters of Science in Information Systems Project Management and has chosen to be a stay at home mom for the last 8 years. Gita enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, watching live comedy shows, listening to music and dancing. As a PTO member, Gita is thrilled to have the opportunity to work alongside our wonderful American Academy families and help enhance the school community.

Michael Buehler - Vice President, Fundraising Programs
The 2016-2017 school year is Michael Buehler's second year as VP of Fundraising Programs. Michael loves supporting the school and helping the PTO be even more successful. Michael and wife Danielle have two daughters, Anne in second grade, and Samantha in first. They have lived in Parker with their labradoodle for three years and love American Academy. Michael has his Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and is a Senior Professional Services Consultant with Splunk. In his spare time he loves to golf, ski, and spend time with family.

Cherie Hedrick - Vice President, Service
Cherie Hedrick is excited to join the PTO as the VP of Community Outreach. Community service is near and dear to her heart. As the Community Outreach Coordinator for the 2015-2016, she was able to involve both students and parents in meeting the needs of our community. As a PTO member, Cherie is looking forward to working with our great American Academy families on a number of community projects.
As a Colorado native, she has had the opportunity to explore our great state from the four corners to the western slope. She graduated in 1995 from UNC Greeley with an Earth Science-Geology degree.
Cherie and her husband Brian have been married 14 years and have lived in Lone Tree for 11. They have one daughter Mallory who will be in 5th grade for the 2016-2017 school year. They are avid sports fans and follow the Broncos, Iowa Hawkeyes, as well as hockey, basketball, and baseball. When not at soccer or cheer, they enjoy skiing and spending time at the beach.

Monica Fernandez - Vice President, Social Events
Monica Fernandez is excited to be part of the PTO for a 2nd year as the VP of Social Events. Her desire to serve on the American Academy began the moment her children entered the school by volunteering, being supportive and work to enhance it with the help of our great American Academy family. She was born in Cuba and raised in Miami, FL. Her and her husband, Jose moved out to Colorado in 2003. They have three kids: Daniel 4th, Natalie 3rd and Emily 1st grade for the 2016-2017 school year. As a family they travel, go camping, hiking, enjoying the outdoors and a fan of South Florida sports teams.

Stephanie Queisert - Treasurer
With the upcoming 2016/2017 school year, I will be joining the PTO Board as Treasurer. My husband, Mike and I have two boys. Riley is in 7th grade and Greyson is in 3rd grade. We enjoy all the things Colorado has to offer; skiing, hiking, camping, biking and paddle boarding. I have a BA in Accounting and an MBA in finance/accounting. I currently work for Schwab Charitable Fund (Charles Schwab) and think both my accounting and non-profit experience will help our board continue to be a success. I look forward to meeting new parents this year.

Tarra Gerlach - Secretary
Tarra Gerlach will be joining the AAPTO for the 2016-2017 school year as Secretary. She has actively participated with the PTO in prior years helping where needed during events such as the Movie Night, Holiday Boutique, Pennies for Patients, Teacher Appreciation, etc. Tarra has loved being room mom, volunteering during lunch time, helping in the class room and attending field trips with her son. She also spearheads the Pinwheels for Prevention campaign in April every year to bring child abuse awareness to American Academy families. Tarra and her husband Jon have two children. Their son, Regan, is a third grader and their daughter, Emilia is one year old. Tarra operates her own accounting/bookkeeping firm specializing in medical practices and non-profit organizations. She has an MBA in Accounting and Finance and a BS in Business Administration. She looks forward to serving American Academy families and helping fulfill the mission of the AAPTO.
